Our General Rules & Guidelines

Fun and Silliness over XP and Loot: Though our guild allows all to play as they wish and level as fast as they want, we encourage guild members to engage in fun activities and witty conversation. Most of members are not driven by being the highest level or gathering the most wealth.

Never Ignore a Call for Help: Try to assist any who ask for assistance if possible, whether they are in the SBA or not. We pride ourselves on our friendly reputation, (many other guild and individuals have commented on our helpful attitude). This may mean helping with casting buffs, or loaning small items (in no way do we wish you to be taken advantage of ... never give valuable items to a stranger! ).

Respect all those who Roleplay: If a player is roleplaying you must treat them as their character. This mean speaking to them as if they are their race or class and not using any real world slang or references.

Ranks

Recruit

Hello! We hope you like our friendly group. You are now on official "try out" status for the next couple of weeks. You must show yourself to be of good shorty material to become an offical member with the status of "private".

This will mean being friendly, engaging in conversation, and basically being an addition to the guild. We are a guild of quaility first, not quantity. In addition to showing yourself to be socially compatible, you must also gain the positive attention of current shorties. New initiates will have their name submitted to the promotions area of the forum where your deeds can be posted.

If you don't feel that you are a good fit for us, you may deguild with no hard feelings. However, it would be nice for you to drop me (Dita) a line and let me know why you made your decision. Hope you are happy here!

Private

Welcome aboard! Yar! When you officially join the SBA you are a Private. It's your job to follow the guild rules as best you can (and try not to spam the guild channel too much). Even though you are 'just a member' please remember that you carry the guild tag, and your behaviour and tells will be seen by the rest of Aggramar. You will get the benefit of being among some of the nicest and most helpful people you could ever meet on the server, and have access to the Guild Bank for some bits and pieces to help you along the way (NOTE: The bank is NOT obliged to fit you out from head to toe with Golden Platemail. The bank is to hold guild items that are being passed down to HELP you, not twink you).

Veteran

Now you've been around a bit, helped others a lot and come to the attention of the higher ranks as being a great Shortbreader. Being recognized as a good SBAer is something to be proud of, now you can do some real work! Veteran duties can include a bit of running around for the higher ranks, upholding the guild rules and looking after the privates, as it were. Be prepared to get jobs handed to you willy-nilly as the higher ranks try and keep this chaotic bunch organized.

Officer

Well, the General and Captains have become so inundated with recommendations and stories of your good deeds, selfless activities and sacrifice that they have been embarrassed into promoting you again. You have pretty much been vital to the running and flavour of the guild for a while now anyway, so you'd best carry on, eh? Now, you are a valued member of the SBA and are pretty much a vital part... you've been absorbed into the SBA collective. Resistance is futile.

Now, you are an Officer. This means you have the responsibility of introducing people into the guild. Plese read the page with the membership form for details.

Captain

Not to be given out lightly, this rank is an honour reserved for those who are considered by the General as 'Number 2': the guys who get to run the guild while she plays croquet.

The "Captain" rank used to be the "Commander" rank and was orginally reserved for the two other guys who started the guild back in EQ days. It is not a promoted rank. Commanders Leap and Seventoes made the final decisions over guild policy and activities. Nice couple of fellows, really.

Now the "Captain" rank is the guys you go talk to if your General is too busy having a pedicure, watching soaps, reading comic books, or torturing Gunberry. It is a handpicked rank for outstanding and longstanding shorties that are active and aren't afraid to get their hands dirty.

General

General is a rank reserved for Dita. Girly-girl, golden kitty, or evil genius? No-one knows for sure... but as guild head, the General is the only person who can make your life miserable and have no consequences. She's mostly a nice, approachable person, so don't be afraid to come and have a chat if you've not met her yet.
